It’s the chance for students to begin building a better future for themselves. Here at DSU we provide students with all the opportunities and skills to do just that. Whether it’s fostering communities, enhancing social lives, providing a wide range of inclusive opportunities, offering advice, providing platforms for change, or improving student wellbeing, we want all DMU students to graduate with memories of an incredible university experience, fully prepared to succeed in their chosen futures.

As an organisation, DSU champions the student voice at a local and national level. We work closely with DMU on behalf of students, forging strong relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders for the benefit of the student body. 

In 2023 we relaunched our Strategic Objectives:

These objectives are underpinned by our Organisational Behaviours and our new North Star - We are a student-led organisation that works for the interests and needs of our student members.
