Christ Church Students’ Union is a student-led organisation that represents 12,000+ students across our campuses in Canterbury, Medway, and Tunbridge Wells. Crucially, although we work in close partnership we are independent from Canterbury Christ Church University and proudly for students, by students.
The activities and services we offer are wide-ranging and include:
- Representing all students on their course, within the University, within the locality, and nationally - working with others such as the National Union of Students.
- Campaigns that inform students, and defend and extend their rights as students and citizens.
- Supporting life-affirming student-led communities across sports, general interest. and academic societies - we aim to offer something for everyone.
- A Give it a Go! programme and a range of other events to build student belonging, community, and help students have fun and make memories!
- Free, impartial, and professional advice to support students in their academic interests at university.
We’re a Charitable Company, registered with the Charity Commission. Why does this matter? Well it means that we are not-for-profit and are ‘owned’ and run by our Members - all students at the University.
As a registered charity, the Union’s Board of Trustees are responsible for all aspects of the Union’s operation, and as a student-centric organisation the majority of Board members are current students, supported by a team of career staff led by the CEO.
