Student Opportunities Coordinator

Job Description

Bristol SU is seeking an outstanding individual who has great attention to detail, an interest in supporting risk management, and who feels comfortable operating within a highly regulated environment.

Bristol SU is the home of 350+ Student Groups: Societies, Sports Clubs, and Volunteer Projects. Their activities encompass everything from Skydiving to Scuba diving, Cultural Societies, Political Societies, and every Sport and Hobby you could imagine.

Our groups are run by student committees of student volunteers (there are around 3000 student leaders in total) and the SU provides processes, policies and support to ensure that groups are well-run, in line with relevant regulation, and that activities are conducted safely.

  • Health & Safety

  • Financial

  • Free Speech

  • Legal

This is a varied and interesting role, that is split between proactive work to support student groups to manage their own risk, as well as reactive work to escalate when new risks materialise. The successful candidate will be someone who is effective, diligent, and sees tasks through to completion.
