Job Description

Purpose of the Post

To ensure that the Students’ Union is at the heart of campus activity.

To ensure that student led society officers are trained and supported in line with the SU’s policies and procedures.

To work with student society leaders to ensure societies are active and inclusive, including monitoring and evaluating the society reward scheme.

Undertake all administration duties required to enable the societies to thrive and to encourage new societies on campus

To develop and deliver events and campaigns to ensure that students feel part of a community.

To engage and support student volunteers in the delivery of events and campaigns.

You will do this by

  • Taking day to day responsibility for all aspects relating to student led societies
  • Taking the lead on the development and implementation of a programme of on campus events that celebrate the diversity of University of Greater Manchester Students.
  • Taking the lead on the development and implementation of a programme of on campus / Health and Wellbeing events and campaigns.
  • Taking the lead on organising campus fairs such as Welcome Fair, Activities Awareness Day and Refreshers Fair.
  • Developing a programme of ‘give it a go’ sessions.

General

  • Liaison and partnership working with University colleagues such as Student Services, Chaplaincy and the Sports Centre to engage students in activities.
  • To comply with Bolton SU rules and regulations regarding equality and diversity, confidentiality and health and safety.
  • Work with the Bolton SU team to deliver Welcome Week activities, SU Elections, Student Led Teaching Awards and other major events.
  • Other such duties that may arise from time to time that may be set by the General Manager or Student Engagement Manager.
  • Occasional requirement to work evenings or weekend to deliver key events such as Welcome Week or large society events
