Job Description

Wrexham Students’ Union (WSU)
Voluntary role – expenses covered | Approx. 4 meetings per year | Wrexham / Hybrid

Wrexham Students’ Union represents and supports over 10,000 students at Wrexham University, including a large international community and learners at partner campuses. As a Union recognised for social inclusion and currently developing a new strategy and plans for a new SU space in 2026, this is an exciting time to join our Board.

We are seeking External Trustees to strengthen our governance and help guide our continued growth. The role involves offering strategic oversight, ensuring good financial and legal compliance, supporting senior leadership, and helping us deliver positive impact for students.

We welcome applicants from a wide range of backgrounds. Experience in Finance or HR would be especially useful, but is not essential. What matters most is sound judgement, commitment to our values, and the ability to bring an external perspective to a student-led charity.

This is a voluntary position with expenses covered. The Board meets around four times per year, with a mix of remote and in-person meetings.
