The Students’ Union is a “not for profit” organisation and a registered charity working at the heart of Staffordshire University’s diverse and multicultural student community. Here at Staffordshire University Students’ Union, everything we do contributes to our strategic vision. Building a community for our students in Stafford is critical, providing opportunities for our students to have a sense of belonging, meet new people and enjoy a full University experience.
We’re looking for a Stafford Students’ Union Coordinator to apply their enthusiasm and project management skills to deliver a range of services to our students to enable them to connect both socially and with our campaigns. You’ll have experience of working in a high pressure customer service environment, with demonstrable ability to work on your own initiative.
The successful candidates will support the Students’ Union to achieve our vision by:
- Being the first point of contact for student engagement, voice, and advice; this will include meeting with students, providing and disseminating information and dealing with queries appropriately for all student service area
- Providing high-quality independent advice and advocacy support to students on academic issues, housing issues, and financial issues and, where appropriate, connect them to internal University or external partner agencies
- Supporting and developing an appropriate structure for academic representation to ensure that attendance at University Boards, Committees, Student Staff Liaison Meetings, and course management committees are as effective as possible; with a key focus on making positive change for their peers.
- Working with student groups supporting the setup, planning and development of a broad range of opportunities to ensure that students have a great extra and co-curricular experience at our University.
