AboutReading University Students\' Union (RUSU) is a student-led charity which exists to support students and enhance their University experience. We are a dynamic, forward thinking organisation; aiming to bring inclusive services and facilites to our members. Our members are the 18,000 students from over 150 countries who are registered and study at the University of Reading. RUSU is based on the beautiful Whiteknights Campus.
We are seeking an organised person to provide clerking duties to the Board of Trustees. Reporting to the Chief Executive you will be accountable for:
Coordination of an annual cycle of business for the Board and its sub-committees.
Supporting the Co-Charis and CEO with preparation for meetings, including formation of papers and circulation of agendas and paperwork.
Attendance at meetings and taking minutes and actions as required
Keeping up to date with compliance requirements
Maintaining Trustee records
Coordination of induction and support of trustees
Have experience of working in a secretarial capacity
Be able to work independently on a flexible basis
Have excellent communication skills, both written and oral
Have a high level of administrative and organisational skills
Possess a strong attention to detail
Be committed to and understand the principles of equality, diversity and inclusion.
Be comfortable working in a democratic, student led environment with the ability to empower and build relationships with elected leaders
