The role involves strategic oversight of the Access All Areas volunteering projects, focusing on training and development, support and guidance, and working in partnership with colleagues at the University of Manchester. The role will maintain and build a range of positive stakeholder relationships with local schools, community groups, and partners within the University and Students’ Union. The Senior Access and Widening Participation Coordinator also acts as the strategic lead for the union’s access programmes; identifying gaps and proactively seeking out new opportunities for projects.
This role is exciting and varied. It will really suit you if you’d like your everyday to be involved some in-depth work on documents, some co-ordination/update meetings in person or over Teams, helping set up for an in-person event and coaching a student leader with something they’re working on. All different types of work, and all contributes to making sure our student leaders have an outstanding experience. You will never be bored, and will always have the right support around you to do your job well. It’s also the kind of job where you can directly see the positive impact of access projects on student success in real-time.
If you have experience of effective volunteer and project management, with an understanding of the barriers to accessing Higher Education, this could be the role you’re looking for.
