AboutWe have had notable success recently both in engaging with our students and in supporting the universities ambitions, all whilst going through considerable change. The challenge is to now maintain the direction of travel and identify how to make the step change in the demonstrable impact that we have. Finally, we have to recognise the challenges that we currently face as an organisation to ensure this change is sustainable and that the organisation is well managed. In order to continue to deliver and ensure we make a real impact on the student experience we have to focus on being a strong and stable organisation.
We are recruiting three trustees that will bring a mixture of financial, HR and commercial law experience to our Board. If you are successful in your application, you will have the opportunity to help oversee our change programme and ensure that we are delivering the kind of high-quality representation and services that Westminster students need and deserve.
The people who are involved in UWSU are our greatest asset and we are proud to be a student-led organisation that is here to represent students’ needs, protect their rights and ensure the student voice is heard when important decisions are made.
It is amazing, and we’re very grateful, that you want to share your experience, knowledge and skills to develop our organisation and we really welcome your interest.
This is an exciting time to be a Board member of UWSU. Westminster University was founded in 1838 and was the first polytechnic in the UK. It is a diverse and forward-thinking University and the Students’ Union has an important role to play in improving the lives of current and future Westminster students.
We support societies, sports teams and student media groups, offer impartial advice services, organise the biggest events in the University calendar and run a bar and shop on our Harrow Campus.
We’re looking for someone like you who can help unlock the potential already existing within UWSU to complete a significant change project. You’ll help us deliver a Students’ Union that is fit for the future, outward looking and has a major impact within the University and communities that we operate within.
