Job Description

At Imperial College Union, our purpose is to make a positive impact on the experiences and outcomes of all Imperial College students from all backgrounds, and we’re looking for a new Managing Director that will help us continue our journey to become an outstanding students’ union.

There is so much that makes Imperial College Union special. We’re based in an historic campus environment in South Kensington – a short distance from the Natural History Museum and Hyde Park.  The Union building itself is next door to the Royal Albert Hall.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re looking for a new Managing Director that will build on our strong foundations and work collaboratively with elected officers to help us be the kind of students’ union that our members need and deserve.  The role requires a leader that can co-create solutions with student officers and is passionate about developing and empowering students and student leaders.

The successful candidate will bring experience in leading the development and delivery of long-term strategic plans and a clear understanding of good practice in the Higher Education, Voluntary and/or Students’ Union sectors.

You will need to demonstrate the ability to build effective partnerships with a wide range of stakeholders, further building the growing reputation of the Union as a force for change and positive impact.  You’ll also need to be able to motivate and inspire the team you work with day in, day out – to further establish a high-performing, inclusive culture.

BENEFITS

We offer sector-leading benefits for the role including a generous 21.6% employer contribution pension scheme, 39-40 days holiday and a real commitment to flexible working.  As the role is on an Imperial College employment contract, you would also have access to an extensive range of professional development opportunities and peer support from within the College.

We think this is an amazing opportunity and hope you do as well.
