Summary

LUSU are seeking to recruit an experienced, innovative Management Accountant to join our well established Finance team in supporting the Charity and our commercial companies.
This new role will support the organisations Financial Controller in timely preparation of financial information for departments and our governance structures across the Group and improve collaboration across the business in order to provide financial expertise and business partnering.

Job Description

Lancaster University Students’ Union provides excellent services and opportunities  supporting and inspiring our diverse population of over 15,000 students to make the most of their experiences at University. We are a registered charity and a company limited by guarantee, wholly owning two trading subsidiaries- LUSU Housing Ltd and LUSU Services Co. Ltd.

We are looking for an individual who will be able to further digitise our finance office in line with our sustainability focus, and ensure that financial best practice is consistently delivered across the Students’ Union and its component activities.

You will have significant experience working in an organisations finance function, supported by a professional accounting qualification e.g. CIMA/ ACA/ ACCA, and with proven ability to maintain and improve a strong financial control culture across the Group.

To enable this, we expect that you will be comfortable and adept at multitasking, managing your own and others priorities effectively and able to work to tight deadlines. The ideal candidate will be confident at enabling colleagues in all departments with differing levels of financial acumen- ensuring our finance office effectively supports our commitment to, and delivery of, our wide-ranging activities.
