About

Union of Kingston Students exists to support, empower and enrich the lives of all students at Kingston University. We are a registered charity with student members elected across a range of roles to lead the organisation, supported by a team of permanent staff who are responsible for the operation and management of the union. The students’ union works collaboratively as a critical friend to build an inclusive and broad-based environment for the 15,000 students whose lives are transformed during their time in Kingston. As a union, we work hard to enrich the lives of our students through representation, more than 100 societies, competitive and non-competitive sport, volunteering and advice.

Summary

We are looking for a creative and organised Marketing & Communications Coordinator who will support elected officers and staff in promoting and developing UKS.

Job Description

The Union of Kingston Students (UKS) is a dynamic, democratic charity and membership organisation, run by students for students and is dedicated to improving the lives and academic experience of current and future students at Kingston University.

Through our vision, mission, and values we provide lifelong experiences and opportunities for all Kingston students through inclusive, innovative, supportive, collaborative and empowerment of our members to break down barriers and by providing opportunities to succeed. Our employees play a vital role in helping us to achieve this by coming together with students to improve our community, our collective student voice and ensuring the highest level of student and staff wellbeing.

The Role

We are looking for a creative and organised Marketing & Communications Coordinator who possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and will support elected officers and relevant staff in promoting and developing UKS. The successful candidate will have experience delivering social media campaigns, creating, and working to project plans. You will have a positive impact on the students and staff you interact with and should be able to create and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

If you have experience working to tight deadlines, are familiar with managing multiple projects at a time and have knowledge of current marketing trends, then you are just the person we are looking for.

This is an exciting time to join UKS as we have just confirmed we will be moving into a brand-new Union space on campus in the summer 2024. We provide sport and societies for students, skills development workshops, academic advice support, sustainability opportunities, student staff roles and events at our new retail outlet (Not My Beautiful House) that houses and sells student products and projects. We offer a flexible working environment with a strong supportive culture that is committed to ensuring our people have a great experience and develop their potential.
