AboutUnion of Kingston Students exists to support, empower and enrich the lives of all students at Kingston University. We are a registered charity with student members elected across a range of roles to lead the organisation, supported by a team of permanent staff who are responsible for the operation and management of the union. The students’ union works collaboratively as a critical friend to build an inclusive and broad-based environment for the 15,000 students whose lives are transformed during their time in Kingston. As a union, we work hard to enrich the lives of our students through representation, more than 100 societies, competitive and non-competitive sport, volunteering and advice.
The Union of Kingston Students (UKS) is a dynamic, democratic charity and membership organisation, run by students for students and is dedicated to improving the lives and academic experience of current and future students at Kingston University.
Through our vision, mission, and values we provide lifelong experiences and opportunities for all Kingston students through inclusion, innovation, support, collaboration, and empowerment of our members to break down barriers and by providing opportunities to succeed. Our employees play a vital role in helping us to achieve this by coming together with students to improve our sense of community.
We are excited to be recruiting a new Events Coordinator, who understands how to manage multiple projects effectively and can establish, build, and nurture excellent relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, while ensuring that the SU is at the heart of the lives of Kingston Students.
The Union of Kingston Students is looking for a creative Events Coordinator to plan and implement a variety of culturally diverse events on and off campus and will be pivotal in fostering a sense of community among our UKS students, officers, and staff.
We are looking for someone who can work individually and as part of a team, who has excellent communication skills and can bring imaginative ideas to this important role, while providing guidance and support to students, officers, and Union staff. The ideal candidate will lead on Flagship UKS events, including End of Year Awards, Global Festival, Varsity, Refreshers and Winter Fest while generating and adhering to budgets. You will be an integral part in helping us to continue to create an environment that promotes our values within UKS.
This is an exciting time to join UKS as we have just confirmed we will be moving into a brand-new Union space on campus in the summer 2024. We provide sport and societies for students, skills development workshops, academic advice support, sustainability opportunities, student staff roles and events at our new retail outlet (Not My Beautiful House) that houses and sells student products and projects. We offer a flexible working environment with a strong supportive culture that is committed to ensuring our people have a great experience and develop their potential.
