We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join our Senior Management Team at Coventry University Students’ Union. You must have a significant track record of achievement and experience of working at a senior level in Human Resources within higher education, a students’ union or have equivalent experience.

This role will ensure that the strategic development of all HR, Governance and Equity drives positive culture change across the organisation. The post-holder will advise the senior management team and the Board of Trustees on organisational development to maintain levels of performance in a rapidly changing environment.

You will be part of a senior management team supporting the development and implementation of wider business strategy, together with designing and maintaining HR or management systems, processes, procedures and reports, including policy writing. You will need strong knowledge of identifying and managing people opportunities and risks and overall organisational governance processes and frameworks, with the ability to embrace and work in a culture of recognition across the business.

The post-holder will also strive to deliver a strong focus on equity and diversity in all aspects of the organisation, therefore you should hold significant knowledge and experience of legislative, regulatory and good practice standards in the field.

This post is permanent working full-time 37.5 hours per week (part-time would be considered for the correct candidate), though a flexible approach to working hours is required. As an organisation we do have an agile working programme. For this role the successful candidate will be required to work on campus a minimum of 3 days a week during term time. This will be discussed and agreed with the successful candidate.

We are especially keen to encourage expressions of interest from people currently under-represented within the organisation, these include but are not limited to those from the LGBT+ community, people with disabilities, and those from a Black, Asian or Minority Ethnic background. Candidates with a disability will be guaranteed an interview, providing they meet all the essential requirements of the post.
