The organisation is energised in becoming the best it can be for over 12,000 students at multiple sites across Chester, Shrewsbury and Warrington. We have recently launched a new website that will support our work on driving engagement as well as further resourcing our democracy and research work to ensure that everything we do is evidenced based and relevant to the needs of our members.

Job Description

As a brand-new role at CSU, our Data & Research Co-ordinator will work closely with the Marketing and Development Lead to transform the way we approach the collection and analysis of data – from society activity, to website stats, to student demography and beyond. Working across departments, the successful candidate will assist in providing the organisation with the insight it needs to know it is delivering the right services to the right students at the right time.

  • Hours:  20 hours per week
  • Salary: OS 5 £23,144 – £24,948 per annum, pro-rata
  • Responsible to:  Marketing & Development Lead
  • Responsible for:  Student Staff (ad-hoc)
  • Place of work:  Exton Park (Parkgate Road) Chester, with the expectation to travel to satellite campuses and sites and 7.5 hours of remote working.
  • Purpose: The post holder will play a key role in ensuring CSU is meeting the goals it has set for itself in its Strategic and Monitoring Plans by making sure all data collected is centralised, easily accessible and tells the stories the organisation needs it to in order to make sound business decisions
  • Key Relationships: Elected Officers, CSU Staff and Volunteers, University of Chester staff, OneVoice Digital, National Union of Students (NUS)

The successful candidate will be joining an organisation that was recently shortlisted for ‘Students’ Union of the Year’ in the Educate North Awards. We have finalised our work on our ambitious new strategic plan which will ensure that our members ‘love their student life.’ Our new plan sets our commitment to develop both the quality and quantity of our engagement with a greater breadth of inclusive activity and an increased prominence at sites beyond the Exton Park (Parkgate Road) Chester site.  You can read our new Strategic Plan here.
