Job Description

The Students’ Union at UWE is looking for looking for an enthusiastic Student Sustainability Engagement Coordinator to join our Community Team on a full-time basis!

The successful candidate will co-ordinate the engagement of UWE students in sustainability campaigns and projects, through our Green Team and Sustainability Committee and empower UWE students to challenge and contribute to the sustainability agenda at UWE Bristol and The Students’ Union.

Sustainability is a key strategic aim for The Students’ Union at UWE, we have been awarded ‘Excellent’ in our annual Green Impact submission for the last 7 years and also received The Highest Scoring Students’ Union Award for this time period.

This role will play a crucial role in supporting students to develop their own exciting sustainability-related projects and campaigns!

The Student Sustainability Engagement Coordinator operationally co-ordinates the engagement of UWE students in the sustainability agenda, through:

Delivery and development of the UWE Green Team, Sustainability Committee;
Empowering UWE students to challenge and contribute to the sustainability agenda at the University of the West of England and The Students’ Union;
Coordinating the student-led sustainability related volunteering projects; and
Supporting students to develop their own sustainability-related projects/community activity.

Additional Information

Salary: £23,082   + Annual salary increases + Annual increment salary increases for your first three years’ (can be outlined within interview) based on full time hours (37 hours per week)

Grade: 3.1

Holiday Entitlement: 27 days annual leave + Bank Holidays + Closure Days

Hours per Week: 37 hours per week

Duration: 22 Month Fixed Term Contract

Location: Based at Frenchay Campus. The postholder will be required to work at, or from any of the Union’s establishments (Bower Ashton Campus, Glenside Campus etc) and be willing to travel within Bristol and the surrounding area.
