Job Description
The Community Team here at The Students’ Union at UWE creates a sense of belonging for UWE Bristol students.
Our Community Team are looking for an enthusiastic individual with a strong administrative skillset to join them, supporting The Students’ Union Presidents operationally and administratively to run key liberation campaigns and events and activities for students at our Bower Ashton Campus. This role has front of hours duties, meeting Bower Ashton students, answering queries and signposting to support services.
This role contributes to the Community Team’s strategic goal of developing a vibrant, inclusive community across all UWE campus sites:
To act as the first point of contact for students to The Students’ Union at Bower Ashton;
To organize events and promote activities to City Campus students; and
To support operationally and administratively student-led liberation campaigns and events.
The Community Projects Coordinator will support building a sense of community by operationally and administratively supporting student-led liberation campaigns, projects and events such as Black History Month, Womens History Month, LGBTQ+ History Month and Disability History Month.
We are therefore looking for an individual with an understanding of social justice issues and strong administrative and organisational skills to facilitate the delivery of identified key campaigns/ projects and liberation initiatives as identified by the student population/ elected officers, whilst working in alignment with The Students’ Union Strategic Plan and carrying out tasks as instructed by the Community Manager.

Additional Information:
Salary: £23,082 + Annual salary increases + Annual increment salary increases for your first three years’ (can be outlined within interview) based on full time hours (37 hours per week)
Grade: 3.1
Location: Based at Bower Aston Campus- Bristol during Term Time, based at Frenchay Campus during the summer months- can be discussed during interview.
The postholder will be required to work at, or from any of the Union’s establishments (Frenchay Campus, Glenside Campus etc) and be willing to travel within Bristol and the surrounding area
Duration: 22 Month Fixed Term Contract
Hours Per Week: 37 Hours per week
Due to the nature of the role, must be able and willing to work outside standard office hours as and when required (with notice), including semi-frequent evening work and occasional weekend work for events/ activity.
Holiday Benefits: 27 days annual leave + Bank Holidays & Closure Days (pro rata)
