Job Description
Provide strategic leadership for all membership areas of BSU.
Ensure close collaboration between all membership services teams and the Officers.
Develop initiatives and activities designed to increase membership engagement.
Ensure that all activities and services run under Membership Services are accessible and relevant for students, reacting to insight.
Ensure all elections and other democratic processes are run in accordance with the relevant policy and maximise engagement.
Advise on short, medium and long term operational developments in line with organisational strategic aims and future planning framework.
Create regular reports on membership activities for SMT and the Trustee Board as requested.
Work with relevant staff, ensure the development of an effective marketing plan for all membership areas.
Work collaboratively with the CEO to train, support and coach elected officers throughout their term of office.
Assist the CEO with governance and democracy oversight.
Stand in for the Chief Executive at University meetings as and when requested.
Maintain an up to date awareness of University and wider policy issues affecting students.
Lead on Access and Participation work across the Union.
Maintain regular and positive communication with senior internal and relevant external stakeholders.
Attend University level meetings, representing and advocating for students as required.
Maintain good awareness of GDPR to ensure compliance in all areas of data collection.
