Summary
Job Description
Have you ever wanted to be an HR professional in an organisation that truly cares about its staff?
Are you excited by EDI, employee wellbeing and empowering others to be the best that they can be? If so, this might be exactly the role you’ve been waiting for!
In this role, you’ll lead a team of graduate and student staff in delivering a HR service to our friendly managers and staff. Since we’re a Students’ Union (a charity in the education sector), we’re all about learning and helping people find out what gets them up in the morning!
We take a collaborative approach to how our organisation is run, and we’re always working together to change how we operate and grow what we do, so you’ll enjoy this role if you’re the sort of person that is always up for looking at a problem from a different angle to find creative solutions. The bonus is, you’ll also be part of a community of Human Resources professionals working in Students’ Unions who have regular meetups and shared forums where they support one another and problem solve together, so help from them, your line manager or your colleagues is never far away!
Over the next year the sorts of projects that might be on your to-do list include:
Supporting our Interim CEO and your manager with our Pay Review Project which aims to improve staff satisfaction with pay
Working with managers to roll-out an Organisational Staff Training Plan, including Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Training as e-learning for easier access
Updating our Absence Management Policy and Procedure to make it more user friendly
As our People Manager, you’d be supported by the head of department (Boo Sherriff), who is happy to chat with you about the role if you’ve got questions ahead of applying; [email protected]
